CartWright Education was founded in 2020 with a mission of providing high quality education to EMS providers. We specialize in EMS airway education our primary curriculum is the Prehospital Emergency Airway Course (PEAC). This course is a comprehensive 3 year program designed to provide bot BLS and ALS education for prehospital covering full range of emergency airway patient populations. PEAC is currently in the process of becoming a registered non-profit organization with the goal of providing access to education for underserved EMS agencies across the state.
In addition to airway courses CartWright also offers tailored EMS education at agency request. Topics include but are not limited to:

Advanced heart failure
12 lead EKG
The science of resuscitation

Missy Carter MPAS, PA-C, PM

Missy is a Tacoma Community College alumni and has been involved in the EMS community since 2000. Prior to attending PA school at the University of Washington in 2014 Missy served as a paramedic for the Bremerton Fire Department for over 11 years. Missy has a background in Emergency Medicine as a PA-C and is currently practicing in the ICU. She taught at the TCC paramedic program for 20 years and Missy has been teaching difficult airway management for over a decade. Missy is also active in the medical community as clinical preceptor for PA students at MEDEX Northwest.

Josh has a passion for education and is a natural born leader. Josh started his teaching career at Tacoma Community College as clinical director of the paramedic program, now serving as the EMS program chair and is responsible for many innovative changes. Josh served as a paramedic, Fire Caption, and union president for Sunnyside Fire and Rescue for over 12 years.

Mike started his career in EMS in 2002. He served as a paramedic in Eastern Washington before attending PA school at the University of Washington in 2012. Mike currently practices in critical care with a background in advanced heart failure and critical care transport. Mike also participates in PA education as a guest lecturer and clinical faculty for MEDEX Northwest.
Samantha Fox, PM

Samantha Fox has been a firefighter and paramedic in Washington State since graduating from Tacoma Community College’s paramedic program in 2010. She currently serves as the A-Shift Battalion Chief for Central Mason Fire & EMS, where she also leads the department’s peer fitness and peer support programs.
Samantha is a CrossFit coach, mom of two boys, and proud owner of a very large “nefi-poodle.” When she’s not in uniform, she loves spending time outdoors—hiking, backpacking, and connecting with her big Italian family in Olympia.
A passionate educator, Samantha has been an airway instructor with Cartwright EMS Education since 2023 and is dedicated to sharing her love of paramedicine and patient care. She’s a strong advocate for firefighter wellness and mental health and continues to collaborate with her county’s EMS community and MPD to advance progressive, compassionate medicine across Washington State.
Jesse Fox PM

Jesse, another TCC alumni, started his career with Central Pierce in 2006. Over the years Jesse has been heavily involved in EMS education as a both a preceptor and an educator, now serving as Medical Officer for CPFR. Jesse was instrumental in updating the Pierce County Paramedic Airway Management (PAM) program and is known as a leader in EMS.
Stephen Hudspeth

Stephen has been serving as a Firefighter/Paramedic for Central Pierce since 2017. He is heavily involved in EMS education with a special interest in Airway, Cardiology, and MCI. He is currently leading a multiagency study on prehospital IV nitroglycerin for the treatment of flash pulmonary edema.
